Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate, innovative, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our existing team in the Bereavement Service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
This role provides a high standard of clerical service and, where necessary, reception duties to the department of Bereavement Services, adhering to departmental guidelines and policies. The post-holder may be the first point of contact for the bereaved and other visitors to the department.
As a Bereavement Liaison Officer/Administrative Officer you will act as a point of contact, support and source of advice for the relatives of deceased patients and healthcare professionals in relation to death certification and signposting to external stakeholders.

Main duties of the job
Leeds Teaching Hospitals has in excess of 3000 patient deaths per year, which in line with national guidance require review by a Medical Examiner. The post holder will work closely with the Medical Examiner Office, providing support to the Medical Examiner/Medical Examiner Officers, and other healthcare professionals / stakeholders.
The post holder will undertake a range of clerical and administrative duties which will include receiving and checking documentation, reports, collation of data and processing of Medical Certificate of Cause of Death. In addition, the post holder will be a source of expertise and advice for relatives of deceased patients, healthcare professionals, the Coroner, Leeds City Council, registration services and other stakeholders.
This role is cross site working between St James University Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary.
