Main duties of the job

  • Work with the NIHR Head of Research Inclusion to take a key role in identifying approaches for and taking responsibility for implementing national strategic developments relevant to the NIHR under-served communities portfolio.
  • Develop and take responsibility for implementing a national strategic, cross NIHR approach to data, communications and learning and development for NIHRs under-served communities work.
  • Take responsibility for scoping the initial resources required to deliver a cross NIHR approach to under-served communities work (e.g., budget requirements).
  • Offer leadership, advice and support across the NIHR.
  • Oversee the other associated NIHR activities related to our under-served communities work.
  • Provide expertise across the NIHR, supporting the Department of Health and Social Care (Science, Research and Evidence directorate) and NIHR Coordinating Centres, to ensure that health inequalities considerations underpin delivery of all aspects of NIHR business.
