We are looking for an experienced and motivated Dental Nurse Co-ordinator (Orthodontic MDT) to join the Orthodontic team at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in coordinating multidisciplinary clinics, supporting complex orthodontic care pathways, and contributing to service improvement within a specialist environment.

You will work closely with Orthodontic consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive safe, effective, and compassionate care while supporting efficient use of resources and continuous quality improvement. Responsibilities include coordinating specialist clinics, supporting clinical records and case presentations, and contributing to evidence-based care delivery.

Further professional training and development will be supported, with opportunities to expand specialist skills and progress through continuing professional development linked to a personal development plan.

Applicants must:

Hold a Level 3 Dental Nurse qualification or equivalent National/Hospital Certificate in Dental Nursing.

Be registered with the General Dental Council.

Hold a post-qualification certificate in Orthodontics.

Contract: Full time 37.5 hours per week

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am 5:00pm

Main duties of the job

The postholder will support the Orthodontic service by implementing care plans, coordinating MDT clinics, and taking and presenting clinical records for complex orthodontic patients. They will prepare PowerPoint presentations for consultants and work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the right person delivers the right care efficiently.

The role involves coordinating Orthodontic MDT clinic lists and patient pathways, ensuring patients meet oral health standards. The postholder will take and manage clinical records, including photography, impressions, and intra-oral scans, and prepare and present complex cases at MDT and 3D/surgical planning meetings. They will manage digital imaging safely, maintain specialist equipment, and report faults for repair.

The postholder will work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team and contributing to service improvement, clinical policies, pathways, and protocols.

The postholder will maintain mandatory training and CPD, support staff learning and development, and continuously develop their clinical and management skills. They will will manage stock levels and order supplies to maintain service delivery and balance the budget, ensuring efficient and safe use of departmental resources.
