An
exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Leeds Dental Institute team working
at our Bradford Outreach teaching site, as a Qualified Dental Nurse
You
will be working alongside and covering for the Senior Dental Nurse, supporting
the education of dental undergraduates and apprentice dental nurses in a 7
chaired dental unit.
Annual
leave would be expected to be taken outside of student term time.
You
will be responsible for delivering exceptional standards of safe, effective
care; monitoring and maintaining care to ensure that it consistently meets
Trust standards.
Qualified
Dental Nurses work as a highly valued member of the Dental Team and applicants
should be enthusiastic, professional, and well-motivated team players whilst
also being able to work on their own initiative.
Further
professional development is strongly encouraged. There will be opportunities
for continuing professional development linked to a personal development plan.
Applicants
must hold a NVQ level 3 Oral Health Qualification or equivalent
National/Hospital Certificate in Dental Nursing and be registered with the
General Dental Council. A post qualification certificate or additional
competencies are desirable.
The
post is fulltime 37.5 hours or part-time/job share/term time would be
considered.
Working
hours - Monday-Friday - 8.30am - 5pm (1 hour lunch)

Main duties of the job
The
post involves supporting and providing chair side assistance to the dental
undergraduates in a busy clinical area.
You
will be responsible for ensuring the correct equipment and instruments are
available for treatment sessions, complete administrative tasks and support the
daily running of the teaching unit.
You
must have commitment to putting patients' needs first within a friendly,
supportive, efficient, clean and safe environment, providing a high standard of
care whilst always ensuring patients are treated with the utmost respect.
You
will support the education and induction of apprentice dental nurses and dental
undergraduates.
You
will be required to support and cover the Senior Dental Nurse in their absence.
