Main duties of the job
The
role is to provide a proactive, client focused service providing
comprehensive and effective advice and guidance to managers. As an HR Advisor you will actively develop
the skills and competencies of managers. You will be given exposure to the
full range of employee relations casework in a unionised and complex
organisational setting (including attendance management, conduct
investigations, supporting performance, dignity at work and other workplace
concerns raised by staff), supported by an experienced HR Manager. The role
also involves providing advice, information and support to managers and staff
on general workforce matters and terms and conditions.
Key
to the work of the team is Personalised People Management, our approach to
all workforce matters and the way we support our managers to lead their
teams. This approach means considering each case on its own merits,
understanding fully the reasons behind it, aiming for timely and local resolution
wherever possible, and ensuring that all individuals involved are supported
pro-actively and compassionately throughout. As a result, we have been
undergoing a radical review of all our HR processes, policies and procedures,
with the aim of ensuring individualised, early and informal resolution.
