Over
61,000 people work in health and social care across Leeds. In Leeds, one of our strategic workforce
priorities is to reduce health inequalities in and through our workforce. We
know that certain populations in our city have poorer health outcomes than
others. This can be linked to where they live, their ethnicity, a disability
and range of wider characteristics.
As
a city we have embarked on a range of initiatives to address Health
Inequalities, and the Health Equity CPD programme is focussed initially on
supporting our nurses, midwives, AHPs and care support workers to better
understand and reduce inequalities.
The
ambition of the programme is to work with stakeholders to identify the gaps
in training provision that will make a real difference to practice and
co-develop what is required for staff in both direct care provider roles and
in coordinator and leadership roles, as well as supporting whole team
development.
Main duties of the job
This
role will report to and work closely with the Health Equity CPD Development
Lead, providing high level project and administrative support. This includes:
Providing administrative support
for the CPD programme, including managing communications, scheduling
meetings, booking venues, creating process maps.
Dealing with enquiries and requests
ensuring these are dealt with in a timely manner
Being highly proficient in MS
Office and simple online software
Excellent customer service and
partnership working skills.
Ability to work autonomously, use
initiative to problem solve creatively as well as organise and prioritise own
workload
Strong, confident communication
skills both written and oral
Ability to be flexible and adapt to
new pieces of work as priorities change
A particular focus for this role
will be to support the development of training resources including
e-learning. Experience of working in a training and development function will
be an advantage.

development for the current workforce, supporting candidates moving into or
across health and care organisations in Leeds, and working alongside partners
on collaborative workforce projects that have been designed to strengthen our
effectiveness as a system and maximise the opportunities that a joined-up
approach could bring.
Our
ambition is for Leeds to be the best city for training and working in the
sector, with progressive, diverse careers for all students and staff,
inspiring the next generation of health and care workers. It will be a
healthy and caring city for all ages, where people who are the poorest
improve their health the fastest.
