The Hearing and Balance Service at Leeds
Teaching Hospitals is looking for an enthusiastic Audiologists to join the
Adult Rehabilitation and Diagnostics team. You will have a BSc in Audiology
or BSc Healthcare Science (Audiology) or equivalent, and be registered, or in
the process of registering, with HCPC/RCCP/AHCS. We are committed to providing the highest

Based
in a newly developed department at Seacroft Hospital just outside Leeds City
Centre the Hearing and Balance Service provides modern facilities and a
comprehensive range of services, across multiple sites for patients of all
ages including implantable devices and vestibular assessments. Due to the
range of services provided, opportunities exist for training and development
into specialist areas and staff can be supported through the Higher Training
Scheme.
The
Hearing and Balance Service offers an open and inclusive culture for its

Main duties of the job
The
department currently provides a range of services including
Direct referral for hearing aid
assessment
Adult aural rehabilitation
(including domiciliary and outreach clinics)
Support to ENT
Paediatric assessment and
rehabilitation
Tinnitus assessment and therapy
The
role will involve assessment and rehabilitation of adults across sites. We
are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who enjoys new
challenges. There is scope to support the department in many exciting
initiatives and develop the service with continuous improvement cycles. The department are also working towards
IQIPs accreditation.

post holder works in close co-operation with the Team Leaders in the delivery
of day to day services and the personal development of specialisation.
The
post-holder will:
Undertake a senior but generalist role within the Hearing & Balance
Centre.
Undertake broad range of service provision with elements of routine and non-
routine tasks.
Develop specialist skills in sub-specialist area/s of service that reflect
key elements of non- routine tasks.
Receive the personal development support of the relevant Team Leader/s in
sub-specialising.
Contribute to day to day departmental management.
Specific:
Provision of routine and non-routine clinical services.
Contribution to budgetary control measures for income and expenditure
Contribution to control measures and monitoring service contract performance.
Contributing to innovation and service design around a continual service
improvement philosophy.
Undertaking quality control measures.
Providing leadership to junior members of staff as a positive role model.
Contributing to positive performance management.
Contribution to Health and safety management to ensure a safe working
environment.
Assisting with the positive delivery of the Patient Access agenda.
