Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trusts award winning Finance department as a Finance Business Partner.

We are looking for a senior, qualified and experienced Accountant to join a team that undertakes financial management responsibilities for several CSUs as well developing the trusts monthly patient level costing (PLICS) outputs and how these are used for patient and service benefit.

Main duties of the job

You will also provide leadership and line management to a team of CSU accountants, Costing team professionals and other financial management staff ensuring that deadlines are met and quality assurance standards are achieved across both financial specialisms.

The role includes the opportunity to take the lead on projects and tasks across the wider finance function.

  • 5 O levels/GCSEs to include Maths and English
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Experience

  • Extensive experience in providing impartial detailed financial advice and information to management teams
  • Experience of working in financial management roles including the areas of budget setting and financial planning; financial reporting to business units
  • Experience of using and maintaining an NHS costing system, developing PLICS and engagement in its outputs across the organisation.
  • Knowledge of the NHS Costing Manual and the requirements of the annual National Cost Collection exercise
  • Experience of producing costing information at patient or other levels including consultant, specialty and CSU for in-depth analysis, investigation and other business use purposes
  • Highly developed in depth specialist knowledge of accounting concepts, conventions, policies and procedures
  • Ability to make judgements involving highly complex facts or situations, which require analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options
  • Experience of leading cross-cutting projects and collaboration with other stakeholders to improve performance
  • Ability to adapt information to engage a range of stakeholders
  • Experience of managing staff and delivering finance training
