This role is to support the Materials Management Team at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI). Replenishing stock on the wards and working alongside the Materials Management Assistants, who would lead on inventory Management of stock. You would need excellent attention to details and be rigid on stock rotation & insuring that the ward staff have the medical provisions they require. You would be a point of contact for ward/clinical staff requiring medical provisions, sometimes urgently, so you'd need to be able to think on the spot and manage their expectations in the Leeds Way.
Main duties of the job
On a day-to day basis, you will be loading cages/load-hogs, moving them around the hospital to the required wards/departments and unloading them to replenish the Modules (storage units containing products) as per the Materials Management Assistant's directions. This is a relatively physical role, you can expect to walk around 15-20,000 steps per day, across a 7.5 hour shift. You will need to fulfil OH requirements and be in a good state of general physical health. You will be using a handheld scanning device, to track the stock's location, experience of such a device would be an advantage, but not essential.

The Supplies and Procurement department is made up of approximately 140 staff and the various teams are based throughout the Trust. (St James University Hospital, Leeds General Infirmary, Chapel Allerton, Seacroft and Wharfedale Hospital). The department as a whole consists of the contracting sections for both Clinical and Non-Clinical, e- Procurement, Materials Management (Supply Chain), Scan4Safety and IT Procurement. YOU WILL BE BASED ATLGI but you will travel across sites when required.
