Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of collaborative Procurement across West Yorkshire, in a unique role as Head of Collaboration. This role will support the Director, Commercial & Procurement and wider Heads of Procurement in continuing to develop our ways of working, supporting our long term ambition to be a unified Procurement service. This is a key time in the Procurement collaboration across 11 Trusts in West Yorkshire, as we continue to work on our governance, approach to collaboration and adoption of systems and processes which support our stated ambition. This role will work directly to the Director, Commercial & Procurement in supporting on the delivery of the collaboration work we have already undertaken and committed to during this financial year. This role will help improve the governance around opportunity identification and delivery of collaborative schemes, identify areas of duplication in our systems and processes and find ways to streamline, working with Heads of Procurement and wider Procurement stakeholders. The role will help manage delivery of an ambitious savings target, working with Trusts and other partners such as NHS Supply Chain and NOECPC to support delivery of our targets. This role is a fixed term role for 2 years.

Main duties of the job
This is a unique opportunity created to ensure we continue to develop our collaboration ambitions and ensure we remain at the forefront of Procurement collaboration within the NHS. You will be leading and supporting across 11 Trusts, working with procurement teams across those organisations to identify best practice and adopting and adapting these to ensure West Yorkshire collectively continues to be a leading area for procurement, recognised regionally and nationally for the service we deliver. This role will be instrumental in improving our overall operational governance, setting us up for future closer working to deliver on our ambition, looking at ways to improve oversight of programmes of work as well as how we can successfully provide robust governance and accountability of the Procurement collaboration overall.
About us
This role is the lead contact across 11 Trusts in West Yorkshire. The Procurement and Supplies function comprises Supply Chain, Digital, eProcurement, Warehousing & Logistics, Contracting and Scan4Safety. This role would be a key part of the Senior Management Team of the department and attend meetings on a regular basis. The department strongly encourages development of its staff members to progress in their careers and as a senior manager, you would be expected to nurture this growth and development in your colleagues. We are a diverse team and pride ourselves on inclusivity. This is a hybrid role, you will need to be able to travel to all sites across the West Yorkshire region. A laptop will be provided. The role is Mon-Friday, 37.5 hrs/week. Standard 27 days Annual Leave/year plus Bank Holidays. NHS pension, NHS staff discounts.
