To lead on required inventory systems using specialist storage projects
ensuring that all catalogue and non-catalogue stock is managed in line with the
departments requirements. Responsible for ensuring that end users at all
levels are fully trained in all automated systems.

Main duties of the job
The
Specialist Inventory Supply Chain Manger will be responsible for over £2m of
stock with an annual spend of over £6m per annum.
Responsible
for all materials management staff on all wards and within theatres at the
Leeds General Infirmary.
You
will manage both Supply X and Oracle requisitioning on behalf of the Theatres
and Anaesthetics Clinical Service Unit.
You
will manage a team of 8 Materials Management Assistants, supported by a
Materials Management Supervisor. You would carry out annual appraisals, 6
month reviews and 1:1's with your team and support on Health & Safety
requirements for your areas. You would take the lead on attendance management
and strive to look after the health & wellbeing of your team, this may
include carrying out individual & team stress risk assessments and
occupational health reports where required, or signposting to an appropriate
support network.

Materials
Management is the service providing medical equipment and supplies direct to
wards and theatres and therefore everything we do has the patient at the
centre. There is a strong team requirement and you will not only work
alongside your Materials Management colleagues, but also clinical colleagues
in the Theatres setting, building a rapport with Ward Managers. This may
often require diplomacy and conflict & resolution skills. Supplies forms
part of the Procurement department (a group made up of over 150 individuals).
We all ultimately report into the Director of Commercial & Procurement.
