Job summary

An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the Estates Department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust as an Estates Manager (Operations) covering all Trust sites. This is a key role in the management and the operation of the Trusts estate which, at over 500,000 sq. meters, is one of the largest and most complex in the country.

The Estates Manager shall have a mechanical or electrical background and possess good computer and IT skills.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring Estate Infrastructure considerations are taken into account during any Capital alteration, refurbishment or new build projects. To liaise with appointed Capital Project Managers to understand the existing site infrastructure and function and the impact the Capital scheme will have. To provide specialist technical and expert advice to the proposed Capital scheme on all aspects of Estates Services prior to and during delivery.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Senior Scheme Liaison Engineer, the post holder will assist with liaising between the Operational Estates, Capital Estates and Corporate Planning Departments to ensure the smooth delivery of compliant Capital Schemes

The role will require the candidate to be familiar with Healthcare specific regulations (HTMs & HBNs)

To be experienced in Healthcare specific disciplines to include Medical Gas, High & Low Voltage Systems, IPS/UPS Systems, Secondary & Tertiary Power Supplies, Nurse Call and Specialist Ventilation

Standard Building Services; Small Power & Lighting, Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarm, Heating, Pressure Systems, Boilers, Building Management Systems (BMS), Domestic Water Services and Drainage, Asbestos Regulations, Health & Safety policies and procedures

The post holder will be required to become familiar with the whole LTH Trust Estate to include the Services as listed above and the Clinical functions they support. To recognise and identify backlog infrastructure issues

The role will involve participation and contribution at all RIBA stages prior to scheme commencement, Site & Progress Meetings during the scheme with particular focus on assisting in the enabling process from early engagement prediction to organising. Snagging throughout the project and on completion. Post Project review and handover documentation

There may also be a requirement to participate in an Estates on call rota
