is essential. The key responsibility of the post will be helping to ensure
safe, effective and efficient healthcare is delivered across two major acute
hospitals in Leeds and several other sites.
There
will be a requirement to manage external contractors working for the Trust on
a day to day and individual project level.
Estates staff who work with mechanical and electrical systems will
also be under your direction and there will be opportunities for development
within project management as well as within risk & compliance management,
energy management and intelligent systems.
The
Senior Technical Engineer will report to the Environmental Manager (Energy),
who will be responsible for developing their skills, but they will also work
flexibly and provide ongoing support to senior Estates colleagues. We are
looking for an enthusiastic, team player, who is proactive, resilient and
driven to succeed, with a real commitment to work in the NHS. This is a trust
wide position, predominately based at St James University Hospital in Leeds,
but with flexible working encouraged.

BMS Specialist will develop proficiency in the use of the Trend Engineering
tool (SET) with a full understanding of IQ Vision and Trend Tonn devices on
the Niagara 4 platform.
Using
these tools, the BMS Specialist will create and update graphics using the
inbuilt design templates in IQ Vision in conjunction with SET. They will also
create new strategies to enhance control/energy saving.
They
will help Estates by identifying issues with plant, directing them to rectify
faults. They will also check alarm systems are functioning correctly,
resolving any issues as they arise, monitoring the BMS system and attached
devices. The next stage will be reporting issues to Estates colleagues and
shift engineers if urgent. Good written communication skills are required to
produce detailed reports on plant and actions required to engineers and other
colleagues.
A
big part of the role is developing BMS projects and project management,
including ordering small scale BMS works. This involves working closely as a
team with colleagues and developing good relationships with System House
engineers.
This post will require high degrees of both knowledge and experience within BMS environments and require the post holder to work independently from the outset.
