so, an exciting opportunity has arisen within our award-winning Facilities
Operational Patient Environment team at both the Leeds General Infirmary
Hospital and St Jamess University Hospital Sites in Leeds.
As
a Facilities Operational Supervisor, youll play a crucial role in ensuring
the safety and wellbeing of our patients, by operationally Supervising the
agreed block/services to ensure the Patient Environment action plan is
achieved on time and to the required local and national standards.
The
ideal candidate will have some previous experience working within some of the
following functions and services, (list not exhaustive.)
Domestic Services
Housekeeping
Patient Food Service
Cleaning Response Service
Waste Management
Linen & Laundry
Portering

Main duties of the job
The
successful candidate could be supervising up to 40 staff, at any one time.
This role is key in ensuring that all the Cleaning and Patient Catering
services are delivered to exceptional standards.
The
Facilities Operational Supervisor position provides an ideal opportunity for
a highly ambitious, skilled and focussed individual.
Day-
to- day duties include: The daily management of staff rotas, including Health
Roster online system, payroll, attendance management, including formal
attendance meetings, audits & monitoring, direction & monitoring of
daily activities, appraisals, acting upon patient feedback and Risk
Assessments.
The
successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with both Internal and
External Key stakeholders, alongside Patients & Visitors.
Many
of the shifts available, follow a 2-week rotational 11-hour shift pattern,
which involves working every other weekend.

management, allocation and supervision of a large team of Housekeeping,
Portering, and Catering Operatives, including any other staffing group that
forms part of the Patient Environment service provision, i.e. front of house
receptions, undertaking tasks associated with the provision of patient
catering, cleaning, and portering. Ensuring that staff are safely allocated
in accordance with the agreed roster and team members carry out their duties,
in accordance with laid down relevant procedures, Trust policies and that
standards are regularly monitored, so that patient environment services are
maintained to a high level standard of service and quality.
The
post holder will ensure patient movement and flow, across various clinical
service units, are maintained to support safe patient care. To ensure compliance and staff are working
to Infection Prevention & Control guidance, Trust strategies for patient
catering, cleaning, & portering, including legislative requirements for
food safety, national patient environment standards and to deliver safe
baseline and mandated NHS England cleaning standards.

- Good communication and presentation skills
- Good and confident IT skills including Microsoft Office packages

- CMI (principles of management & leadership), level 3 or equivalent, or ability to achieve when appointed
- Formal Qualifications (CSE/GCSE or equivalent ) at least pass (c or 4 and above) in English , Maths or level 3 in supervision /management

- Undertaken any recent and relevant training required to enhance the delivery of the service
