The Facilities Patient Environment team have an exciting 12-month secondment opportunity for the role of Facilities Manager, working in Portering services at both the St Jamess University & LGI Hospital sites. The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5hrs per week which will include some weekend/evening working with flexibility when required, dependent upon needs of the service.

The role would predominantly have the responsibility for the day-to-day management of key services such as, Patient movement and Portering services, along with supporting, facilities patient services such as cleaning, meal service delivery, cleaning response and circulation cleanliness. All of which are crucial to ensuring our patients receive an efficient, high-quality and safe service.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have great communication skills and would be expected to liaise with a range of multi-disciplinary teams, within both the clinical and facilities teams, across the Trust to ensure that facilities services are achieved within specified timescales and to the optimal standards. You must be a people person, as fostering close working relationships will be essential, as youll be working with colleagues in our clinical departments and estates to ensure that the best possible standards are maintained and continually improved upon. Youll play an important part in ensuring all patients and visitors who come to the Trust have an excellent experience whilst at the hospital.

The role includes the effective management of the Portering services across St James Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary. This entails the management of Assistant Managers, Supervisors and staff and ensuring that all Trust polices and procedures are adhered to.

The successful candidate will be asked to implement innovative ways to improve the service and support the Trust's 7 commitments with the reduction of patient wait times. The role requires flexibility in approach to the duties required and the hours worked.

The post holder will be expected to have a successful track record in managing a large team in a healthcare environment and have a sound knowledge of Microsoft systems.
