The
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust are looking for an experienced, committed
and innovative individual to fill the position of Senior Decontamination
Manager. They will ensure the highest quality of service, to provide a safe
and effective environment to care for our patients. The Senior
Decontamination Manager is the Trusts professional lead on Decontamination
ensuring that its provision is aligned to and supports the clinical strategy.
The
postholder will be responsible for Trust wide Decontamination services
supporting 70+ operating theatres & other clinical service units with the
contracted service/ supply of compliantly decontaminated medical devices/
equipment within the Trust Estate. This requires the effective performance
management of the sterile service contract/ supplier in addition to the
management of the endoscope reprocessing hubs, which currently employ 18
staff, a critical support service for the Endoscopy to deliver safe, effective
patient care.
The
job package includes: -
A
competitive salary pro rata Band 8b, £64,455 - £74,896 (Inc. enhancements
for unsocial hours).
Annual
leave starting at 27 days per annum plus statutory bank holidays rising to 33
days with service.

Main duties of the job
The
Senior Decontamination Manager is to provide expert advice and assistance to
a wide range of staff, consultants, senior managers and Trust directors on
decontamination issues and policy. In addition, the post holder must ensure
that all aspects of decontamination management comply with, or are being
developed towards, present national laws, regulations, guidance and all
recognised standards
The
post holder will provide professional scientific technical and overall
management of decontamination process and ensure all staff are provided with
the opportunity and encouragement to develop.
Healthcare
experience in a senior management role is essential, with experience in
commercial contract management plus the ability to demonstrate a history of
process management and strategic decision-making.

Trust.
Advise
and guide the Trust in respect of decontamination services in future
developments, contracts and its delivery strategy.
Interpreting
both National and International standards, plan, develop and implement a 5 -
10 year decontamination strategy for the Trust as a whole.
To
develop Standard Operating Procedures for decontamination across the wholes
Trust.
Promote
good governance and develop appropriate Quality and Audit Management Systems.
Devise
a Trust wide strategy for the development of endoscopy decontamination
services.
Contractual
performance management for the Sterile Services contract, ensuring that is
