Assistant Facilities Manager Patient Environment-Band 5-

The Facilities Patient Environment team have an exciting opportunity for the role of Operational Assistant Manager for Facilities. The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5hrs per week which will include some weekend/evening working with flexibility when required, dependent upon needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

The posts primary function is to assist the Facilities Operational Manager. The role would predominantly have the responsibility for the day-to-day management of key services such as, cleaning and the patient meal service delivery, along with supporting, facilities services such as portering, cleaning response and circulation cleanliness.

The successful candidate will have great communication skills and would be expected to liaise with a range of multi-disciplinary teams, within both the clinical and facilities teams, across the Trust to ensure that facilities services are achieved within specified timescales and to the optimal standards. You must be a people person, as fostering close working relationships will be essential, as youll be working with colleagues in our clinical departments and estates to ensure that thebest possible standards are maintained and continually improved upon, in ensuring that all patients and visitors who come to the Trust have an excellent experience whilst at the hospital.

Supporting the Facilities management team

Ensuring high standards of cleanliness in all areas relevant to service profile

Ensuring the effective and safe delivery of our patient meal service

The leadership of the operational Supervisory team

High visibility amongst the block profile by being proactive in identifying and resolving issues

To assist the Facilities Manager Patient Environment in achieving their allocated area action plan and targets by leading and managing the Facilities supervisors and operational team in a day to day basis.

To complete any administrative tasks that are necessary for the smooth running of their block.

Essential knowledge and skills for the role are:-

To be educated to a relevant certificate level of education or be able to achieve a certificate level qualification

Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate (Level 3 Food Safety.)

To have had former or current supervisory experience of any form of staff group and an understanding of facilities related services e.g. cleaning, catering or portering

Excellent IT and administration skills

Knowledge of cleaning/catering practices

Knowledge and experience of PLACE

Knowledge of key Human Resource Policies/procedures

Excellent motivational skills
