Job summary
Were
looking for someone with specialist knowledge in the management of building
services including the maintenance and repair of all building fabric and
utilities who wants to make a genuine difference to our Estate.
This
is a rewarding and trusted position where the successful candidate will provide
specialist and professional building expertise, manage contracts, deliver
operational services and lead for the Trust's Building Team. You will be
involved in future planning, be responsible for supporting and developing
Estates strategies and the upkeep of the building infrastructure ensuring
compliance with all relevant health & safety requirements.
Youll play a vital part in ensuring we keep
our hospitals in excellent shape, addressing issues and be a part of one of the
largest and busiest acute hospital trusts in the UK. You'll be at the forefront
of a motivated and dynamic team striving for excellence.
As
the Trust lead for the Building team you will provide senior line management,
share expert specialist information, be analytical in developing solutions,
negotiate with external agencies, provide sound financial management and ensure
safe systems of workin line with HTM/HBNs, Building Safety &
Fire Regulations etc.
The
job package includes: -Salary
pro rata Band 8B £64,455 to £74,896 to reflect 2025/2026 pay award

Main duties of the job
In
this role you will:
Provide Senior Estate Management that require specialist input relating to
Building Regulations, Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, Compliance,
Construction Design Management and Patient Environment etc.
Prioritise and manage all resources, both outside contractors and in-house
labour, in routine and emergency situations.
Develop strategic estates operational plans to ensure that the service is
dynamic to meet the clinical needs of the Trust
Be responsible for the upkeep of Building Fabrics, in compliance with all
relevant health & safety requirement and statutory regulations, in order to
prevent danger to patients, staff and others from risks.
Provide senior line management, including the resolution of disciplinary and
grievance matters and the appropriate recording of such information necessary
for the efficient operation of the Trust systems.
Deal with all Estate Emergencies and escalation of the Trust Estates Emergency
Plan whilst operating a On-Call system.
Provide expert, specialist information and advice to Consultant & Design
Staff regarding complex systems and services to enable the provision of
improvements to the Building Fabric across the Trust.
Be responsible for a range of Building Safety policies to comply with relevant
Health & Safety Regulations and Estates Health & Safety Policies, Risk
Assessments and guidance.
Financial management of budgets up to £1.5M.
