The Estates Mechanical Craftsperson is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all facilities, plant and equipment. From fault finding, repairs and installation, you'll play an essential role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and functionality of our facilities.

Responsible for ensuring safe systems of work are maintained in line with HTM by carrying out Competent Person Duties for Lifts, Ventilation Systems, Medical Gases, etc following training, assessment, and formal appointment.

The role is intended to develop an individuals learning and experience, support core qualifications with additional further training and development over a fixed period to fulfil the requirements of a Maintenance Technician. The role has a dual aim, to enhance the individuals current learning qualifications and support the learning with practical experience.

The job package includes: -

Salary pro rata Band 4 £27,485 to £30,162

Annual leave - 27 days per annum + statutory bank holidays rising to 33 days with service.

Main duties of the job

This role provides the following services to the Trust: -

Plan own on-going maintenance work including problem solving of technical issues and fault diagnosis.

Learn new techniques and undergo training as necessary to obtain the qualifications/experience for the band 5 Technicians role.

Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and Day to Day duties involving the maintenance of all types of plant, equipment and installations, including boilers, water testing and stripping down boilers for insurance inspections

Recording, updating and auditing estates records and assisting in the compilation of Plant Histories.

Give assistance in carrying out surveys for future maintenance, alterations or improvements including the preparation and compilation of technical reports.

Maintenance and repair to building sanitary and water distribution systems.

Competent Person duties for working on mechanical systems Ventilation, water and Medical gases. Instruct others on aspects of his/her work relating to their core trade.

Participate in appropriate on-call/shift rotas, subject to appropriate negotiations, and be prepared to work such hours that may be required in an emergency.

Any other duties as may be reasonably required by line management commensurate with the grades of the post.
