Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Energy Manager to join the Environmental Team in Estates & Facilities at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, based at St James's University Hospital.

We are looking for an Energy Manager, ideally with significant experience working within a similar healthcare setting, to support the Trust with its energy/ utility management services & the sustainability agenda.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the energy management of the larger Estate, produce energy statistics, performance indicator reports and other energy / maintenance related data for Benchmarking Facilities and the Trust.

Financial management of a budget up to £25M, line management of the energy technicians, managing contracts for the procurement of utilities, providing accurate energy forecasting to Finance, escalating any variances, including authorised signatory for the procurement and payment of a range of maintenance, repairs and refurbishment schemes, within a delegated area of Estate Energy management.

To be responsible for managing and complying with all statutory instruments and guidance ensuring best practice related to energy, carbon emissions, building fabric and engineering services.

Provide expert specialist and professional building and engineering expertise and advice to senior management of the Trust and external agencies.

To be responsible for implementing cohesive Energy / Carbon Policy for Trust and developing / implementing energy saving schemes and initiatives.

To act as the technical specialist in providing advice and direction regarding energy management and the use of information systems for Estates ensuring that all specialist systems provide useful and accurate information.
