Job summary
Manage and oversee the installation, maintenance, servicing and repair of the full range of Estates Services equipment. Perform work including activities which require comparison of a range of options, complex facts requiring analysis to resolve technical issues in complex and multifaceted equipment / situations. Responsible for ensuring safe systems of work are maintained inline with HTM and recognised codes of practice by carrying out Authorised Person Duties for Lifts, Ventilation Systems, Working at Height, Water Systems and Pressure Systems (this list is not exhaustive) following training, assessment and formal appointment by the Trust.
Undertake condition surveys, evaluating inspection reports and perform the duties of a Clerk of Works to oversee capital work across the Trust as directed by management, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards, procedures and specifications. Plan and organise major interruptions, maintenance activities and manage work of contractors and directly employed labour. Provide practical training to others and
evaluates work. Manage directly employed labour inline with all relevant Trust Policies, carryout disciplinary and attendance management investigations providing detailed investigation/management reports. Deputise for Estates Manager (Operations) on the full range of
management duties as well as providing technical advice to other Estates staff and contractors. etc. see Job Description Attached
Main duties of the job
Manage and distribute reactive workflow across the Trust utilising the Works Management system. To communicate effectively with all stakeholders, senior managers, external contractors and agency's in relation to Estates issues utilising written and/or verbal communication methods to ensure standards of service delivery are managed and monitored appropriately at all times. To ensure that job descriptions are amended/updated to comply with the requirements of ISO9001:2000, HTMs, working practices and Permit to Work Systems Carry out induction of new starters and the training of apprentices and tradesmen/technicians as necessary. Carryout dynamic and generic risk assessments for all elements of reactive and planned work including manual handling assessments. Manage and complete electronic records for Legionella and Pseudomonas in line with HTM 04 and ACOP L8 and Trust Policy. Managing as team leader and co-ordinator across all disciplines, effectively organising resources including staff and contractors, transportation and materials (including requisition supply, deployment and security) of materials on site. The job may require other duties to be carried out, as may reasonably
required by line management commensurate with the grade of the post. Job holders are required to work in various unsavoury/restricted areas e.g. Mortuary, Theatres, Plant Rooms, Ceiling Voids, Interstitial Voids, Ducts.

One will be a maternity unit with capacity to deliver up to 10,500 babies a year. Completion is planned between 2026-2028.
