Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual/s to join the Paediatric Theatre Team in the Leeds General Infirmary.

The Team work within a number of clinical areas including; CT, MRI Day oncology, Radiotherapy and Angiography.

You will be part of a supportive, collaborative Team with a multidisciplinary approach to perioperative care pathways. The services offered within this speciality are very varied from complex including; General Surgery, Thoracic, Urology, ENT/MAXFAX, Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology and Dentals.

Successful applicants will be experienced practitioners, with a wide variety of clinical and leadership experience. We are looking for individuals who are innovative thinkers, who are ready to support the team and team leader.

Main duties of the job

Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust guidelines and policies

Act as a role model for the development of clinical skills and knowledge within the peri-operative team

Maintain and promote a clean, secure and safe working environment

Support the Team Leader in setting and monitoring standards and seek to continuously improve standards and the quality of patient care, including those standards defined in the National Benchmarks for Essential Care

Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of peri-operative care for patients, ensuring accurate written/ electronic records are kept

Acts in accordance with the professional code of conduct

In conjunction with the Team Leader ensure management of clinical services and efficient deployment of staff according to service needs.

Participate in Providing extended sessions for complex cases and the theatre on call rota, as required.
