We are pleased to share this exciting opportunity to take on a clinical nurse specialist role within the Childrens Haematology and Oncology Service. The successful applicant will join the well-established and dynamic team and have the opportunity to develop their clinical expertise and knowledge, bridging the gap between, home, hospital and the community
You will play a vital role in delivering individualised, family-centred care to young patients, contributing to both their physical recovery and emotional well-being.
The role will also allow you to develop your skills and knowledge in Childrens Palliative care
You will be part of a team supporting the child/young person and family from diagnosis to end of treatment, liaising with many different agencies, you will have responsibility for your own caseload
Clinical experience within paediatric haematology or oncology is preferable. The successful applicant will work alongside the multi-disciplinary teams, both at LTHT and locally to provide coordinated, high quality, individualised family centred care to children and teenagers with cancer.
Main duties of the job
The Jobholder is responsible for the management of a defined caseload. The jobholder carries responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. The jobholder will provide specialist nursing care and advice to a specific patient group and will contribute to the development of the speciality service. The jobholder will ensure cost effective use of resources.

The Childrens and Teenage Oncology and Haematology service incorporates a Principal Treatment Centre for Children, and for Teenagers and Young Adults (TYA) with Cancer. We have a JACIE accredited Stem Cell Transplant Unit for children and young people, which forms part of the West Yorkshire Bone Marrow Transplant programme. We care for children and young people with a range of non-malignant haematological disorders; Leeds is a Comprehensive Care Centre for Haemophilia and a Specialist Centre for Haemoglobinopathy.
