The Stroke & Neurosurgery Research Team is recruiting!

The Research and Innovation Department is continuing its exciting expansion. We have several research specialities, and the Stroke & Neurosurgery research portfolio is looking for a Band 4 Senior Clinical Trials Assistant. This is a fulltime post (1.0 WTE) with a permanent contract. This post will be based at Leeds General Infirmary, with some working across Leeds Teaching Hospitals sites.

The post holder will contribute actively to the conduct, coordination, and delivery of the Stroke & Neurosurgery Research Portfolio.

The main tasks are:

Coordinating expressions of interest and assuming a lead role in supporting study setup for stroke and neurosurgical research portfolio

Admin aspects of research delivery, managing invoicing, research participant tracking, stock ordering, and other studyrelated systems

Assisting in clinics, with opportunities to deliver own allocated trials where appropriate

In addition to ensuring high standards of clinical care, planning, safety, and patient satisfaction, the post holder must comply with Trust policies, study protocols, and all local, national, and legislative requirements.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit a proactive and selfmotivated individual with a keen interest in research to work within the Stroke & Neurosurgery Research Team.

The postholder will provide highquality administrative and clinical support to ensure the smooth coordination of the patient journey throughout our research and clinical trials processes. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of care and data integrity.

The post holder will:

Contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of the portfolio of clinical trials.

Support the implementation of local, national, and international quality standards, guidelines, and recommendations.

Adhere to the Data Protection Act and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Act professionally when communicating with patients, relatives, colleagues, and external partners.

Manage telephone enquiries from staff, patients, and carers, ensuring appropriate escalation where necessary.

Represent the research team professionally at meetings, events, and external engagements.

Work in compliance with ICHGCP guidelines at all times.

The post holder will be required to work alongside industry partners, the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN) Yorkshire and Humber (Y&H) and colleagues in neighbouring establishments, attending regional and national meetings as required.
