The
Research and Innovation Department has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic,
motivated individual who enjoys a challenge, to join our research team in
Leeds.
The
Neurosciences research team is seeking a confident experienced Senior
Research Nurse to provide leadership to a team of research delivery staff, to
work closely with clinicians, nurse specialists and external partners
delivering a research portfolio for patients within neurosciences. It is a
full-time post (1.0 WTE), permanent contract, based in Neurosciences at Leeds
General Infirmary, working cross-site as required.
The
post holder will contribute actively to the conduct, coordination, and
delivery of the Neurosciences Research Portfolio. The main tasks are:
Facilitating
delivery of commercial and non-commercial research trials within the
Neurosciences department in collaboration with our partner organisations.
Provide
leadership to a dedicated research delivery team integrated with the clinical
specialities and further develop the portfolio of clinical trials for this
patient group, contributing to improving and changing their future care.
Responsible
for ensuring standards of clinical care planning, delivery, safety, and
patient satisfaction are to very high standards, compliance with Trust
policy, study protocol requirements, local and national guidance and
legislation is required.

Main duties of the job
We
are looking to recruit a proactive and self-motivated senior research nurse
with a keen interest in research to work within Neurosciences to provide
leadership to the research teams delivering Stroke, Neurology and
Neurosurgery clinical trials.
The
postholder will have advanced knowledge of research delivery to ensure that
appropriate quality, financial and clinical governance is embedded and play a
key role in the development, management and implementation of our research
delivery objectives. The postholder will be required to become an integrated
member of the Neurosciences Research Team, acting as an ambassador for
promoting research and best practice ensuring the best possible care for
their patients.
The
successful candidate will have a background in clinical research delivery.
Experience in the fields of neurology/stroke/neurosurgery is highly
desirable. The postholder will be responsible for oversight of the portfolio
of studies, overseeing the staffing requirements for this, ensuring the
research workforce is competent and has capacity to deliver both commercial
and non-commercial research.
The
post holder will be required to work alongside industry partners, the
National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN)
Yorkshire and Humber (Y&H) and colleagues in neighbouring establishments,
attending regional and national meetings as required
