The Cardiovascular Research Team is recruiting!

The Research and Innovation Department is continuing its exciting expansion. We have several research specialities and the cardiovascular research portfolio is looking for a Senior CTA.

It is a full time (1.0 WTE), with a permanent. This post will be based at LGI.

The post holder will contribute actively to the conduct, coordination, and delivery of the cardiovascular Research Portfolio. The main tasks are: assisting with administrative aspects of clinical research/trials management including costings, invoicing, trial set up and data input alongside clinical duties. Ability to prioritise workload, work independently and unsupervised is essential.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit a proactive and self-motivated individual with a keen interest in research to work within cardiovascular team.

The post holder will be required to:

undertake some clinical skills (clinical observations, venepuncture, heigh, weight and ECG)

assist with informed consent and co-ordination of the patients journey through the clinical trial protocol by organising of any necessary investigations, assist in the collection of biological samples, study questionnaires and other activities required in accordance with trials protocols.

completion of recruitment logs, costings spreadsheets and electronic databases

Raising invoices, ordering and keeping track of office and trial Supplies

Provide administrative support to a large team of Clinical Research Nurses and Principal Investigators and exciting innovative studies in cardiac failure, cardiac surgery and cardiac procedures

Oversee and maintain investigator site files and essential documentation in accordance with ICH-GCP and Trust SOPs to ensure they are kept inspection ready at all times.

Assist with preparation for audit and inspections within assigned teams.

Archiving studies as per local guidance

Induction support and training of junior CTAs.

The post-holder is responsible for supporting and administering all clinical

research within Research and Innovation at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

under the guidance of the Senior Research Nurse/Midwife/ AHP/AHCS

The post-holder must ensure that all trial protocols are adhered to in line with

database and departmental clinical trials database ensuring information is

with manager and where appropriate with adequate documented training.
