The Oncology Team 2 Research is recruiting!
The Research and Innovation Department is continuing its exciting expansion. We have several research specialities and the xxx research portfolio is looking for a Research Nurse/Midwife/Allied Health Professional. It is a full time post (1.0 WTE), with a permanent contract. This post will be based at Bexley Wing, St James's University Hospital.
The post holder will contribute actively to the conduct, coordination, and delivery of the GI Research Portfolio. The main tasks are: Support the B6's, Administration of Chemotherapy/immunotherapy and manage a small portfolio of trials independently and in their entirety. In addition of being responsible for ensuring that high standards of clinical care planning, delivery, safety, and patient satisfaction are to a very high standards, compliance with Trust policy, study protocol requirements, local and national guidance and legislation is required

Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit a proactive and self-motivated individual with a keen interest in research to work within Oncology Research Team 2 (GI, Sarcoma, Germ cell)
The post-holder will:
See Patients in clinic and on CRF.
Prepping patient visits.
Sample shipping.
Trial and clinical activities.
Chase results.
Booking patient appointments.
Assisting with patient queries.
Booking and prepping follow up appointments.
Assisting with treatments.
Query resolution
Overseeing several trials reducing workload on band 6s
Screening patients and following up on biomarkers
Completing IWRS (online ordering system) and reviewing blood results ahead of treatments
CRF clinic and chair bookings
Seeing patients outside of trials clinic in consultant clinics
Communicating tasks with Clinical Trial Assistants.
Courier bookings- for samples (blood and tissue)
The post holder will be required to work alongside industry partners, the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN) Yorkshire and Humber (Y&H) and colleagues in neighbouring establishments, attending regional and national meetings as required.
