Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 3 Clinical Trials Assistant to join the Research Assurance and Approvals Facilitation Team (RAAFT) within central R&I. Please note that this post is offered as a permanent contract at 37.5 h/week.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a full and effective administrative and clerical support service to the Research & Innovation Department/Service as part of a team. The postholder will be responsible for managing a range of day-to-day tasks including but not limited to - new study registration, reviewing/uploading study documents, processing amendments and research passport requests and liaising with a variety of healthcare professionals and research sponsors to respond to queries as well as working within the team to help meet the various demands and priorities of the department as a whole.

This is a varied role which requires both general administrative/clerical skills as well as clinical research specific skills and knowledge. The post-holder will hold excellent communication and organisational skills and be a highly motivated individual who can work independently managing their own caseload, support the team and collaborate with the wider team as and when required. They will also be supportive to the Research Delivery Teams, Key Support Services, and other internal R&I departments to facilitate the set-up of clinical trials/studies.
