Job summary

This key role in R&I is based in the Research and Innovation Centre located at St Jamess University Hospital, Leeds. The postholder must exhibit excellent IT skills, including experience of working with relational databases and the internet and good organisational, analytical and communication skills.

The post holder must also demonstrate a clear understanding of the NHS R&I agenda, in particular, the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research, the Trust R&I Strategy, and the reporting requirements to secure NIHR and other R&I funding to the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will work as part of the Research Data and Informatics Team (R-DIT) and will be responsible for all reporting for clinical trials. They will also work along with the R&I Manager (Real World Data and Research Informatics) on digital projects to improve set up, delivery, and reporting of studies.

The postholder will be the lead administrator for the two key R&I systems, EDGE and OneForm. It will be a distinct advantage to have experience using these systems.

The post holder will be working as part of the Research Data and Informatics Team (R-DIT), a team within the R&I Clinical Support Unit (CSU). The Team provides informatics support to the CSU as well as providing de-identified datasets to researchers. The team encourages innovative thinking, and all can contribute to how it does its work. The team works together harmoniously with very good morale and there are no weak links. The Team prides itself on the sharing of knowledge and expertise. The post holder will support the Senior Information Manager (SIM) with the management of information within the Research & Innovation (R&I). Working closely with relevant departments in the University of Leeds, the R&I database provider, and the Trusts Information Services to support the SIM in developing common information systems, the post holder will be responsible for:

Supporting the management of the Trusts database of research activity on EDGE

Collation of information about studies in LTHT, maintaining and reporting on an accurate picture of research activity within LTHT
