This
is a great chance for highly motivated Registered Nurses to develop their
career within one of the UK's leading Interventional Cardiology Centres. We
are looking for expert Cardiac Catheter Lab Practitioners who are motivated
and enthusiastic with a can do attitude who will deliver quality services
with compassion. This role will provide the opportunity to further develop
leadership skills within a forward thinking dynamic team.
The
successful candidate will be expected to adhere to all Trust and Local
policies, The Leeds Way and ensure that all staff are working within these
policies in order to maintain an excellent standard of patient care. The
position will also involve working bank holidays, weekends, nights and
on-call.

Main duties of the job
These
posts are instrumental in driving and delivering service improvement whilst
supporting and developing all members of the nursing team. The successful
candidates should already have a credible catheter lab skill set and be
prepared to deliver a high quality patient focused service within the present
day NHS. Ideal candidates must possess a positive attitude and along with
expert clinical skills, should also demonstrate excellent leadership and
communication qualities which will work hand in hand with education and
training.
As
the role will involve providing support and education within the unit, a
recognised mentoring qualification is essential for this position. Candidates
without this qualification are encouraged to apply but there will be an
expectation that the candidate will apply for or complete a mentoring
qualification during this time.

Clinical
Maintain a high standard of patient
focused care in accordance with Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust guidelines and
policies
Act as a role model for the
development of clinical skills and knowledge within the cardiac catheter labs
team
Maintain and promote a clean, secure
and safe working environment
Support the Senior Sister/Team
Leader in setting and monitoring standards and seek to continuously improve
standards and the quality of patient care, including those standards defined
in the National Benchmarks for Essential Care
Provide assessment, planning,
implementation and evaluation of peri-operative care for patients, ensuring
written records are kept
Acts in accordance with the
professional code of conduct
In conjunction with the Senior
Sister/Team Leader ensure management of clinical services and efficient
deployment of staff according to service needs.
Participate in the theatre on call
rota, as required.

Contribute to the promotion of a
positive learning environment within the clinical area
