Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Stop Smoking Service Team Leader to join our new service here at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, and be part of our continued commitment to reduce health inequalities across our local communities and deliver the NHS Long Term Plans ambitions to support patients to become smoke-free.
The role will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of our Stop Smoking Service, ensuring that all information, advice, guidance, education and training and other associated local and organisational smoke-free activities are accurate, up to date, continually improving, effective and evidence based.

This is an initial 5-6-month contract until 31st March 2026 to support the Stop Smoking Service as it transitions toward April 2026. These roles may be extended for a further 12 months 26/27.

Main duties of the job
The role will be responsible for providing specialist knowledge and support to our Stop Smoking Advisers and also to nursing staff, the wider multi-professional team, allied health professionals, patients, their families /carers and our partner organisations.
The Team Leader role will include the development and testing of new systems and processes required to ensure that the recording and monitoring of patient activity, including outcomes, and the formal evaluation of the new Service is undertaken.
Its an exciting time to join our new Stop Smoking Service and have the ability to shape our long-term commitment to supporting people to be smoke-free, help keep our hospital sites smoke-free and protect all patients, staff and visitors from tobacco smoke.
