Are you an experienced, compassionate, and motivated nurse with a special interest in respiratory care and long-term conditions? We are seeking a Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Specialist Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team to provide expert care and support for patients living with cystic fibrosis.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of CF care, helping to deliver high-quality, patient-centred services across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
The successful candidate will need to have:
Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration.
Experience in respiratory care, long-term conditions, or specialist nursing (CF experience preferred but not essential).
Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
Proven leadership skills and ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team.
A passion for delivering holistic, person-centred care and making a difference in the lives of people with complex, lifelong conditions.
Main duties of the job
As an Adult CF Specialist Nurse, you will play a key role in the care pathway of patients aged 18 and over, providing support across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. Your responsibilities will include:
Acting as a clinical expert and key contact for adults with CF and their families.
Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients with complex needs.
Supporting patients in managing their condition long-term, including medication adherence, nutrition, mental health, and infection prevention.
Coordinating care as part of a well-established CF multidisciplinary team (MDT), including physiotherapists, dietitians, psychologists, pharmacists, and consultants.
Delivering patient education and promoting self-management and health literacy.
Facilitating smooth transition from paediatric to adult services where applicable.
Contributing to ongoing service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
