Senior Sister/Charge Nurse- L18 - 6-month secondment
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 7 to lead and manage our 28 bedded Cardiology ward. The ward provides specialised care for longer stay cardiology patients with conditions such as heart failure, valvular disease, ischaemic heart disease and endocarditis.
We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic individual with the ability to enable and empower their team. Strong leadership and performance management is an integral aspect of this band 7 role with patient experience and patient safety underpinning all aspects of the ward running efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for the nursing establishment, managing attendance, appraisals, mandatory training and competency assessments as well as the operational running of the ward and all it encompasses. As the lead for the area you will need to provide assurance that high standards of care are met and sustained for every patient, every time.

Main duties of the job
The Jobholder will carry 24 hour continuing responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the ward/department. They will provide professional, clinical, managerial leadership and supervision for the nursing team. The jobholder is responsible for developing and maintaining a ward or departments philosophy that has the patient at the centre of compassionate safe and quality care delivery. Through managing the administrative and financial aspects of the ward, the jobholder will ensure cost effective use of resources.
