arisen for a confident, enthusiastic, and motivated individual to work within
the Corporate Cancer Team. Your primary responsibilities will be to act as
patient advocate to overcome barriers to ensure timely access to any part of
the patients cancer journey, minimising any delays to diagnostics and
treatment. You will directly communicate with patients and their families to
organise appointments, advise on any concerns or queries, and signpost the
patient to relevant support. The role plays a vital part in streamlining the
patient journey and contributes to the improvement of both quality and
experience.

part of the Corporate Cancer Team, we support and help our cancer teams to
deliver quality and timely, patient focused cancer care. We are committed to

Main duties of the job
The
post holder will have responsibility for providing an effective, caring and
compassionate service to patients to optimise their access to cancer
services, through working with the multidisciplinary teams within our CSUs.
They will liaise with patients and their relatives and ensure appropriate and
timely appointments are secured and any additional tests are organised with
other departments and booked within agreed timeframes, reports are available,
and staging is complete. The post holder will actively participate in Cancer
Waiting Times validation and ensure patient tracking procedures are followed
and kept up to date within the department. The post-holder must be able to
demonstrate excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills;
be able to work well under pressure and on their own initiative. We require
an individual with administrative experience, competent IT skills and strong
attention to detail.

role has been created to support the service in its delivery of timely
treatment for patients on a cancer
pathway, ensuring diagnostic processing and reporting is provided in line
with local and national targets. As this is a new role within the service,
the post holder will need to be flexible to support the needs of the
departments it evolves over time. The Cancer Pathway Manager will provide
comprehensive support to the Corporate Cancer Team through the co-ordination
and management of patients on a cancer pathway.
The
post-holder act as a single point of contact for the service, and as a
liaison point between other CSUs, Multi-disciplinary Teams (MDTs), and the
Corporate Cancer Team.
Key
duties of the role include:
Attendance at weekly Patient Access
Meetings, providing analysis of patients on a cancer pathway.
Fast track and Cancer waiting-list
management, including the tracking of patients and escalation of any
breaches.
Leading and supporting the service
in its service delivery and quality improvement initiatives for patients on a
cancer pathway.
Maintaining close relationships
with the colleagues, acting as a key point of contact, and supporting in any
associated activity.
