Job summary

Delivery of Cancer treatment is a priority for Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust, as well as nationally. This is an opportunity to be part of a team that places patient care at its centre, working with the Clinical teams and managers to support the cancer care throughout the organisation.

This is a permanent role in the Corporate Cancer Team, with the focus on maintaining high quality and accurate data quality for both internal and external reporting for Cancer Waiting Times and COSD data. There is also a strong project element to the work that the CCT team undertakes, and data collection to support service improvement is an essential part of the role, which also includes working with the MDT Cancer Tracking team, project managers, business managers and Cancer Tri Team.

Working with the Band 4 data assistant, the post holder will seek innovative and efficient methods of supporting multiple strands of the exciting work going on in the CCT into 2024.

Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as well as ability to understand and manipulate data from multiple sources

Main duties of the job

The scope of this role has expanded as the benefits of such support within the CCT have been realised. The postholder will work with the other members of the team to deliver monthly data for the COSD National team, work with them to ensure the accuracy of submissions and improve methods for collection, whilst also helping to develop a more long-term sustainable plan.

The post holder will link in with the MDT Tracking team, performing regular CWT validation and supporting the team to identify learning and educational requirements. Ensuring that referrals from other centres are received and managed appropriately in weekly meetings with the referring organisations is an integral part of the role.

Project support and governance data will also form part of the workload of the successful candidate.
