An exciting opportunity has arisen to
influence the future for nursing and patient care across West Yorkshire within
the Non-Surgical Oncology (NSO) services.
A NSO programme has being developed and we are looking for a highly
experienced, motivated and dynamic cancer nurse to work across the North Sector
of the NSO programme area. Your employer will be Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS
Trust but you will work across all 4 hospitals in the North Sector.
As Lead Project Nurse for the North
Sector, you will also be influencing the working across the whole West
Yorkshire Harrogate Cancer Alliance (WY&HCA) footprint for NSO and would
need to have strong influencing and negotiating skills.
The post holder will be an integral
member of the NSO North Sector, Programme team, working proactively and in
partnership across Leeds, Bradford, Airedale and Harrogate Trusts with both
clinical and non-clinical colleagues, scoping, supporting the development of
specific clinical projects relating to NSO North Sector programme.
Main duties of the job
This
role will focus on clinically leading, and shaping the clinical pathways,
influencing new ways of working both within secondary and primary care for
NSO patients, identifying and developing workforce opportunities for the
future of nursing and the wider non-medical workforce .
We
are looking for someone with a positive and compelling vision of the north
sectors future potential, ensuring a structured project management approach
is used to plan and proactively manage transformational change.
The
post holder will have recent clinical experience within cancer services and
have managerial experience in leading teams and will possess leadership
skills to deal competently with complex issues in ensuring that professional
standards and policy are upheld, implemented and performance managed.
The
post will require remote working, and the ability to travel to all 4 main
hospital Trusts as required.

About us
Your
role is hosted by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, but you will be working
across 4 different hospitals as part of the NSO Programme, which is run by
the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Cancer Alliance. The NSO Programme team are a
multi-disciplinary team of clinical and managerial staff with extensive
experience in cancer services, programme management and hospital operational
management. The team are focussed on
improving patient care, on service improvement and development with a real
ethos of innovation.Working on the Non Surgical Oncology Programme provides a
real opportunity to influence the provision of cancer services locally for
the future and to create and develop excellent roles and opportunities for
staff working in the specialty.
Working in the team allows opportunity to lead service change and to
engage with multiple organisations and teams to deliver the objectives of the
programme.

The
post holder will act as the Project Lead nurse for the West Yorkshire and
Harrogate NSO Programme North Sector.
The
post holder will plan and manage projects as required. They will lead on clinical elements of the
NSO Programme and working with the Programme Director North Sector and
Project Lead Pharmacist to manage the introduction and implementation of the
North Sector Target Operating Model.
The
post holder will work closely with the Project Lead Pharmacist and NSO
clinical and managerial teams in the North Sector and will:
Brief and advise nursing colleagues
and allied healthcare professionals on matters concerning NSO Programme.
Advise on nursing matters relating
to implementation of the North Sector Total Operating Model.
Provide, support and guidance to
nursing colleagues during the implementation of NSO Programme including
development of new pathways of care and workforce models
Develop nursing policies and
guidelines relating to NSO programme implementation
influencing the working across the
whole West Yorkshire Harrogate Cancer Alliance (WY&HCA) footprint for NSO
working proactively and in
partnership across Leeds, Bradford, Airedale and Harrogate Trusts with both
