to fill this new post within The Leeds Centre for Dermatology at Chapel Allerton
Hospital.
This
is a substantive 10PA appointment for a Consultant Dermatologist. This post
will be available from March 2026.
The Leeds Centre for Dermatology is internationally
renowned for its clinical and academic excellence. In addition to general adult
dermatology, the department provides specific expertise at a tertiary level in
connective tissue disease, complex medical dermatology, genital disorders,
laser dermatology, photobiology, contact allergy, dermatological surgery
including Mohs surgery, melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer, paediatric
dermatology and clinical trials.
The
post-holder will become a key senior member of the dermatology team with
clinical work primarily comprising adult general dermatology, skin cancer
services and dermatological surgery.
The
post will be based at Chapel Allerton Hospital with clinics at St Jamess
Hospital and Wharfedale Hospital as well as advisory participation in the acute
dermatology on-call rota covering the whole Trust. There may be opportunity to explore
specialist interests within the field of general adult dermatology, community
dermatology and clinical leadership roles within the department.
Main duties of the job
The
successful applicant should possess MRCP (or equivalent) and should be included
on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview,
if currently within a training programme within the UK. In accordance with the consultant appointment
regulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the Specialist
Register.
The
applicant must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and
competence in all aspects of dermatology including acute presentations
(including acute paediatric dermatology presentations), skin cancer diagnosis
and treatment.
A
strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a research
interest is desirable.
Consideration will be given to applicants
who wish to work full or part time and those wishing to job share.
