Job summary
LCH is seeking to recruit a substantive Assistant Psychologist to work within the Paediatric Neuropsychology Team. The Leeds Childrens Hospital (LCH) is one of the largest paediatric centres in the country, providing a range of high profile and specialty clinical services.
Paediatric Psychology has a well-established relationship with the Paediatric Neurology Team and works closely with the Medical Consultants, Specialist Nurses and therapists. The post-holder will offer predominantly out-patient neuropsychological assessment and intervention as well as consultation and MDT liaison and teaching and training based in the department in LGI.
Main duties of the job
To undertake clinical work within the Paediatric Neuropsychology service, which will include administrating and scoring a range of neuropsychological tests with patients presenting with various neurological disorders; provide research assistance for the neurocognitive assessment of participants enrolled in clinical trials; data collection and analysis; and assistance with writing papers and research proposals. This will include the use of a database (Excel); advanced systematic literature searches and retrieval; data collection, entry and analysis using SPSS and liaison with a variety of professions.
About us
This post is hosted in the Department of Paediatric Psychology (DPP), which currently has over 30 clinicians working in specialty teams, who have been at the forefront of digital developments (digital clinics, short courses and record keeping). The DPP is academically ambitious with links to the expanding DClinPsych Programme and Schools of Psychology, Medicine and Healthcare at the University of Leeds. Many staff have ring-fenced academic time in their job plan, as scholarly activity is an important part of what we do.

This role is based in the Martin Wing, Leeds General Infirmary and although we are flexible where we can, the post holder will be mainly working on site, with days working from home by negotiation.
