Job summary
We
are seeking an innovative and forwardthinking Advanced Clinical Practitioner
to join our established Childrens Haematology and Oncology team at Leeds
General Infirmary.
This
post supports a welldeveloped 6day / week service, with planned expansion
to a 7day model. You will work as an integral clinician within the
multidisciplinary team, delivering highquality, child and teenager centred
care. The role includes direct clinical practice, advanced patient
assessment, decisionmaking, implementation and evaluation of treatment and
interventions and education and training in partnership with the medical
team.
Experience
in paediatric haematology and/or oncology is desirable; however, full
speciality training and support will be provided for the successful
candidate. You will be supported to practise in line with the
MultiProfessional Advanced Practice Framework (NHSE 2024), with
opportunities for ongoing professional development across the four pillars of
advanced practice.

Main duties of the job
The
Advanced Practitioner (AP) will use specialist knowledge and skills to provide
healthcare independently to patients. The AP is accountable for the total
episode of care for patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed needs.
The
post holder will act as a role model, delivering advanced practice and
promoting clinical effectiveness in care.
He / she will be required to work autonomously in delivering independent
assessment, clinical examination, diagnosis, clinical decision making and
planning of care and treatment, diagnosis, prescribing, health promotion and
safe discharge of patients.
The
post holder will work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team
and will play an integral role in the operational/strategic development of the
service.
The
post holder will promote and facilitate evidence based practice and clinical
audit and research within the Trust.

Marrow Transplant programme. We care for children and young people with a range
of non-malignant haematological disorders; Leeds is a Comprehensive Care Centre
for Haemophilia and a Specialist Centre for Haemoglobinopathy.

- MSc in Advanced Practice (or PG Diploma in advanced practice for those with other Masters qualification)
- Life Support qualifications
- Relevant teaching qualification, Non-medical prescribing

- PG certificate in education
- Band 7 experience.
- Experience of working within speciality.
