Job summary
An
exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Clinical Educator within the
Childrens Professional Development Team within the Paediatric Education
Centre for a substantive post. The focus of this role will be driving quality
and service improvement within the Leeds Childrens Hospital (LCH) through
education, mandatory training, priority training and professional development
education. The applicant should possess excellent organisational skills and
be highly motivated with the ability to motivate and inspire others through
the creation of an innovative culture of education and the ability to develop
and implement strategy to achieve this. Applicants must be able to
demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and be able to establish effective
links with the wider Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
The
successful applicant must possess a recognised teaching/assessment
qualification and significant experience of working clinically in LCH, having
an understanding of how the service runs.
Experience
in education and teaching is desirable. The candidate will have the
opportunity to bring their own ideas to improve education and staff
development across LCH.

Main duties of the job
The
post holder would be responsible for overseeing and facilitating induction
training and annual update training for new starters and existing staff
including all Registered Nurses, Registered Nursing Associates and
Non-Registered clinical facing staff.
You will be responsible for providing quality assurance of teaching
content, competency packages and online learning. The post holder will be
required to keep an audit trail of training provided across LCH.
Additional
aspects of the role will include working with the Childrens Professional
Development Lead and Quality Practitioners in responding to clinical audits,
incidents, service improvement to ensure patient and staff safety. This post
holder will need to be proactive and motivated to drive change within the
wider MDT. The post holder will work
with the childrens education teams across LCH to instigate further training
and education required for existing staff through clinical skills training.
