Specialist Cardiac Catheter Lab Practitioner (XR06)

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 1-year fixed term post within the Congenital Cardiology Catheter Labs at Leeds Childrens Hospital.

We are looking for registered nurses with relevant experience to join the team in one of the UKs leading childrens cardiology centres. The jobholder will become part of a multi-professional team caring for children and adults with complex cardiac background who are undergoing a variety of elective, urgent and emergency procedures.

Previous experience of surgical/cath lab/interventional radiology scrub is essential; however, a successful candidate will be supported in their new role through speciality specific training.

Main duties of the job

The job holder will work as a scrub nurse during a range of different procedures supporting the Interventional Cardiologist. You will manage the day-to-day flow of the elective list, adapting to changes as they arise, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of surgical equipment through ongoing training. Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care to every patient.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to work autonomously and have excellent communication and organisational skills. They must work with The Leeds Way and Trust values at the centre of their care, for both patients and colleagues. They must be able to demonstrate current and on-going personal development and evidence of their contribution to change management/service development within their current post.

Leeds Childrens Hospitals is one of the largest teaching hospitals in Europe and caters to every paediatric sub-specialty under one roof. It also has close links with the adult hospital, within the same building, which enables smooth transition of care from paediatrics to adults.
