Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Childrens Nurse to deliver training and education within the speciality of Childrens Medicine (General Paediatrics) at Leeds Childrens Hospital. This post is a full-time post and would welcome 2 applicants entering a job share due to the scope of the speciality in which the role covers.

A broad level of knowledge and experience of Childrens Medicine (General Paediatrics) is required to support the education delivery for L30, CAT Unit, L40 and L38. The applicant(s) is required to provide evidence of leadership in a clinical setting, possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all teams throughout Leeds Childrens Hospital.

The applicant(s) will have knowledge of national standards and policies and the ways in which these will influence nursing education in the future. Evidence of working independently and presenting passion and creativity when planning and preparing training and education is essential. The role will involve planning education in accordance with clinical standards, managing risk in-line with Leeds Teaching Hospitals operational targets to meet regulatory compliance through training and education. The applicant(s) will demonstrate the ability to create and sustain an innovative culture of education and learning in clinical practice.

Main duties of the job

To support, educate and develop registered and unregistered staff in their clinical role and competencies in order to deliver high quality evidence based care for service users.

The post holder will contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of education and training of registered and unregistered nursing staff.

They will work in collaboration with the senior management team to maintain and project the vision and objectives of the service and ensure that they are embedded in practice.

They will identify and celebrate good practice and share with local and Trust teams.

The post holder will lead by example, will be responsible for disseminating good practice and actively challenging assumptions, practice and performance where appropriate.
