An
exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced nurse to
join our team as a Band 7 Clinical Educator within the Childrens and Teenage
Haematology and Oncology service at Leeds Childrens Hospital.
This
is a 1-year secondment ideal for a dynamic individual who is committed to
high standards of education, practice development, and professional support.
You will be instrumental in shaping and delivering education, mentoring
staff, and promoting clinical excellence in this highly complex and
specialist field.
You
will advocate for nursing colleagues, support skill development, and enhance
patient care through targeted education and training. The role requires
excellent communication skills, clinical credibility, and a deep commitment
to supporting nurses working in emotionally demanding and technically
challenging environments.

Main duties of the job
The
job holder will play a lead role in ensuring the development of clinical
staff both registered and unregistered. The job holder will enable the
development of clinical practice preceptors, assessors and key trainers. The
post holder will be responsible for leading clinical education and associated
resources in their designated clinical areas. The successful candidate will
provide a high standard of education.
The
job holder will support the assessment of the quality of clinical and other
practice learning environments, and implement interventions for improvement.
They will enhance the quality of care delivery from both the registered and
unregistered workforce. The post holder may be line managing a junior
clinical educator depending on the clinical service unit.
You
will be expected to lead the nursing contribution to service development,
ensuring the pursuit of excellence in care. The job holder will lead on the
implementation and monitoring of adherence to relevant clinical guidelines, audit and research. They will function as a
role model for registered and unregistered staff within the clinical area and
Trust, enabling and supporting the development of interdisciplinary and cross
city working to ensure the sharing of good practice and delivery of high
quality, effective and efficient care.
