An
exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Leeds Childrens Hospital acute
paediatric outreach nurse team .
We
are a Critical Care Outreach team that play a vital role in assisting the LCH
staff with acutely unwell and deteriorating patients. We provide clinical advice, education and
support to ward based multi-disciplinary teams throughout all paediatric
clinical areas throughout the trust.
This
is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced nurse to further develop their
clinical assessment skills and decision making and to work collaboratively
with the MDT to ensure the timely escalation of deteriorating children across
all specialities within Leeds Childrens Hospital.
Post
holder must have EPLS and be willing to partake in additional training
required for the role.

Main duties of the job
The
post holder will provide comprehensive assessment and care of the
deteriorating/acutely ill child, leading to early intervention and treatment.
The post holder will work in partnership with the medical and nursing teams
to initiate appropriate care to prevent further physiological deterioration
and identify and refer those patients who require ICU/HDU admission. They will attend all medical emergency
calls within the Leeds Childrens Hospital and Emergency Department.
