We
are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic childrens nurse it join
our asthma nurse specialist team. Have you got experience of working with
children with asthma and want to further your knowledge and skills?
Our
asthma service offers both secondary and tertiary level care to children
across Yorkshire.
Although
we are a small team our project work has been recognised Regional and
National, to improve the lives of CYP with asthma.

Main duties of the job
The
role as an asthma nurse specialist involves delivering a high standard of
care to these patients both on the ward and in outpatient clinics.
Implementing national standardised practice to ensure these patients, receive
the patient centred care they require both in a hospital and community
setting.
Our
clinics run weekly in our respiratory day unit. We work alongside our
paediatrician to review and treat children with severe viral induced wheeze
to children and young people with severe asthma requiring biologic therapy.
It
is a very exciting time in the world of paediatric asthma, with the
publication of the National Bundle of Care for Children and Young People with
Asthma by NHSE. The post holder will be aware of the national standards set
by the bundle and engage in implementing these, where appropriate, within the
trust. This position offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of service
development and implementation of these improvements.
