We
are seeking an experienced and compassionate Paediatric Haemophilia &
Bleeding Disorders Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our multidisciplinary
team. This part-time role (8.5 hours per week) offers a unique opportunity to
provide expert nursing care, education, leadership, and support to children
with haemophilia and other bleeding disorders, and their families.
Key
Responsibilities:
Deliver
high-quality, specialist nursing care to children and young people with
haemophilia and other bleeding disorders.
Provide
clinical leadership within the service, promoting best practice and
supporting the development of nursing staff.
Act
as a clinical expert and advocate for patients and families.
Provide
education and training to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Collaborate
with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care plans and treatment
pathways.
Support
patients through diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management.
Participate
in audit, research, and service development activities.
Be
part of a specialist paediatric haemophilia and bleeding disorders service
with access to expert colleagues.

Main duties of the job
The
post holder will be practising as an independent specialist clinical
practitioner providing patient-centred and evidence-based clinical care,
within an agreed scope of competence and practice. The jobholder is
responsible for the management of a defined caseload. The jobholder carries
continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development,
implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of
standards of care.
The
jobholder will provide specialist nursing care, treatment and advice to a
specific patient group and will contribute to the development of the
speciality service. The jobholder will ensure cost effective use of
resources. The job holder will support the development of interdisciplinary
and whole service working. As a role
model they will promote the sharing of good practice and delivery of high
quality, effective and efficient care. The job holder will provide training
and education to staff groups, patients
and families/carers.
The
post holder will work in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT)
to implement and improve the patient pathway and will be expected to develop
new skills to further enhance the quality of the service delivered. Where
appropriate, the role will include the day to day leadership and management.

for children and young people with a range of non-malignant haematological
disorders; Leeds is a Comprehensive Care Centre for Haemophilia and a
Specialist Centre for Haemoglobinopathy.
