Job summary
An
exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 MDT Coordinator to join the
Paediatric Gastroenterology Department (Inflammatory Bowel Disease IBD) on
a full time basis.
The
post-holder will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational,
interpersonal and communication skills; and will be able to work well under
pressure and on their own initiative. We require an individual with
administrative experience, competent IT skills and strong attention to
detail.
They
will work closely with Clinicians, Specialist Nurses, Secretaries and
Outpatient Clerks, and liaise regularly with the Patient Services
Coordinator, Assistant Patient Services Coordinator and Business Manager for
the area.
This
role is full time but has the flexibility of condensed hours and a working
from home day. The office is based at Park Lane, Leeds General Infirmary.

Main duties of the job
The
post-holder will coordinate all aspects of the patient pathway in their
specialty and be responsible for prioritising work, reviewing work practices,
setting up, managing and ensuring effective running of MDT meetings when
required. In addition, the MDT Support Coordinator will be responsible for
ensuring all patients are monitored and tracked and maintaining the service
database and ensuring information is communicated to the appropriate clinical
and administrative staff within the Trust.
The
post-holder will work across management teams and organisational boundaries
and, whilst linking closely with the Clinical Team, contribute to Directorate
plans and developments, participate in data submissions and validation
process.
Where
appropriate the post-holder will supervise MDT data clerks and be responsible
for appropriate supervisory and personnel arrangements.

post-holder will be part of a wider team within Paediatric Gastroenterology
which consists of 5 Consultants, 1 Medical Secretary, 3 IBD Clinical
Specialist Nurses.
