Job summary
This
is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly motivated, paediatric
neurology physiotherapy team. You will
primarily be responsible for working within the botulinum toxin service,
assessing for suitability for treatment and, after the relevant training,
delivering treatment. You will also be part of the acute neuro rehabilitation
team delivering physiotherapy to children following acute neurological
events.
This
is a highly specialist post allowing ongoing development of skills within
physiotherapy and beyond as an extended scope practitioner, promoting the
role of physiotherapy in a wider MDT both locally and regionally.

Job responsibilities
To
take a lead role in the advanced assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the
most highly complex caseload within this specialist field using advanced
physiotherapeutic skills. He/she will
be expected to undertake training to become competent in assessing for
suitability of spasticity management with botulinum toxin and carry out
injections. He/She will play a key role in the development, implementation
and evaluation of physiotherapy rehabilitation programmes and maintain
records as an autonomous practitioner.
The
post holder will be required to lead the clinical development this specialist
team and to ensure effective communication is maintained at all times, whilst
providing training, support, supervision and clinical expertise to qualified
and unqualified staff and students.
The
post holder will act as a role model to the physiotherapy team as a clinical
source of expertise, promoting quality evidence based practice and developing
the physiotherapy service to support an effective and efficient service
provision in the specialist area.
