We are looking for a friendly, methodical and organised individual to work in the specialist feed unit in the Leeds Childrens Hospital. This is a permanent part time role of 30h per week (0.8WTE) and is overseen by the Childrens Dietetic Team. This role is key in supporting the delivery of great nutritional care to infants and children.
The Special Feed Unit Technicians prepare, label, safely store and distribute therapeutic feeds for the childrens and neonatal services, under the instruction of a registered practitioner (usually a dietitian). This role requires precision in making recipes, managing stock and ongoing maintenance of a clean and safe environment.
Main duties of the job
You will work closely with two other specialist feed technicians, the wider childrens dietetic team and the ward staff. This will include some weekends and bank holidays and will involve working single handed on some shifts.
Excellent communication skills and an understanding and strong commitment to multi-disciplinary team working are essential.
Experience of working within a care setting will be an advantage but not essential as training and support will be provided to develop your specialist knowledge and skills.
