Job summary
An
exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 within the Childrens
Professional Development Education Team within the Paediatric Education
Centre. The focus of this role will be driving quality and service
improvement within the Leeds Childrens Hospital (LCH) through education,
mandatory training, priority training and professional development education.
The applicant must possess excellent organisational skills and be highly
motivated with the ability to motivate and inspire others through the
creation of an innovative culture of education and the ability to implement
the strategy to achieve this. Applicants must be able to demonstrate
excellent interpersonal skills and be able to establish effective links with
the wider Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
Main duties of the job
The
post holder would be responsible for overseeing and facilitating induction
training and annual update training for new starters and existing staff
including all Registered Nurses, Registered Nursing Associates and
Non-Registered clinical facing staff.
You will be responsible for providing quality assurance of teaching
content, competency packages and online learning. The post holder will be
required to keep an audit trail of training provided across LCH and role
model collaborative working with wider teams including the nurse specialist
teams throughout childrens services and teams throughout LTHT.
Additional
aspects of the role will include working with the Lead Nurse for Childrens
Education and Lead Nurse for Quality in responding to the learning actions
from clinical audits, incidents, service improvement to ensure patient and
staff safety. This post holder will need to be proactive and motivated to
drive change within the wider MDT. The
post holder will work with the childrens education team to instigate further
training and education required for existing staff through clinical skills training
and implementation of operational planning that requires seasonal training
annually.
